Hiccup

I had a little hiccup, but am coming back for more. The Biggest Looser always gets me motivated. I struggled with working a full week a week and a half ago when I've been only working Saturday's lately. I work Thurs through Saturday this week, and then depending on if he got his deer I'll either work all the following week or not at all. Gotta love my job. I do, I really do. I'm home most the time with my kids which I truly love and then get to earn a decent wage when I do work.

I edited my plan a little bit. My original plan was to try to exercise 28 days in a row. I'm sick of exercising for a week and then getting off track over and over and I thought if I tried to do it 28 days in a row I could make sure it became a habit. On the 7th day I had a minor injury by forcing myself to exercise. I normally would rest on the seventh day, and now I've seen how truly important that day of rest is. So new plan is to exercises 6 days/week.

Cravings

I came home from work to kids having gone out to eat and KJ still had a soda, and all of a sudden the cravings hit me. I WANT BAD FOOD! I didn't do it. I'd gotten up at 4:15 am to get to work so I was completely drained, so I went and took a nap. I still haven't walked on the treadmill and I'm sitting here with an adorable baby on my lap trying to convince myself to put him down and get on my sweats so I CAN DO IT! I'm also worrying about next week. I'm working all next week (I work as a substitute mail-woman so the hours are early, but the upside is I'm done early). The only problem is I can never seem to get to bed early enough, so I end up coming home and crashing for a few hours.

I'm also struggling with remembering to drink my water before meals. I sure hope I loose some weight this week. I'm hopeful yet doubtful that it will happen.

Starting Fresh

I am starting fresh. I know I've let myself fall pretty far. I watched myself do it. I was stuck in a depression mode that I couldn't figure how to get out. I finally feel excited again about the future and all that it holds for me. Here are a few goals I've got planned to attack the weight and to say good bye to it forever.

1. Exercise for 28 days in a row.
2. Plan is to get up and exercise at 6am every day, but I'm NOT going to beat myself up if I don't exercise then, just as long as I exercise every day. Some days it'll have to be after I get off work.
3. Walk on treadmill and increase time I walk by one minute every day till I get to 60 minutes.
4. Post on blog minimum of once/week and on Peer Trainer daily to log food, feelings, and such.
5. Of course eat the Fit For Life/Natural Hygiene way as offten as possible.
6. I will be staying away from food situations as much as possible (ie. Eating at my moms, Family BBQ's, Church Functions, and Weddings). At least for the first 28 days so I can make sure the exercising and eating will become a habit.

Carbohydrates are Addictive, I've Proven It!

I was on The Biggest Looser web site the other day and found an area that says it's debunking health myths. One of them was,

"Myth-Carbohydrates are addictive"

It goes on to say Carbohydrates help your brain produce serotonin, a "feel good" chemical that enhances our mood. It also says addiction involves physical withdrawal. I've gone off of these white flour, complex carbohydrate type foods quite a few times, and each time I get head aches, I feel physically ill like I might pass out. If these aren't signs of a physical withdrawal I don't know what they would be.

So I've been having extreme feelings of depression, and I think it's finally making sense. Carbohydrates cause a chemical reaction and cause a feel good chemical to enhance my mood. So here is another symptom of the addictive nature of carbohydrates, and I'm feeling the full affects of the Carbohydrate withdrawal.
